FR - Depuis 2006, le Jazz Station Big Band est résident de la Jazz Station. Devenu véritable
acteur de la scène belge, le groupe a développé un son totalement unique. Le JSBB est
composé de 13 solistes hors-pairs, parmi lesquels se trouvent ses propres arrangeurs. Dans
le cadre de ce festival, ils revisiteront avec brio le répertoire du grand Charles Mingus.
"Le Jazz Station Big Band est sans conteste un des big bands européens les plus
prometteurs. L’écriture est ingénieuse et ambitieuse et les arrangements sont profonds et
sensés. Leur utilisation astucieuse des mesures impaires, des changements de métrique et
de l’improvisation libre gardent l’auditeur en éveil, mais un grand lyrisme, de la simplicité et
de la beauté se trouvent aussi dans leur travail. Voici sans nul doute un album de grande

NL - De Jazz Station Big Band resideert al sedert 2006 in Jazz Station. Met z’n heel eigen
sound en z’n repertoire van zowel originals als moderne standards is het orkest intussen een
vaste waarde op de vaderlandse jazzscene. De JSBB bestaat uit 13 uitzonderlijke solisten
waarvan sommigen ook begaafde arrangeurs zijn. Als onderdeel van dit festival zullen ze
briljant terugkomen op het repertoire van de grote Charles Mingus.

soundtrack van de herhaaldelijk bekroonde film ‘Birdman’):
